21 November 2017, New York, Minister of Environment and Energy, Mr. Thoriq Ibrahim delivered a keynote address at a Side-Event hosted by the New York University entitled "We'll Always Have Paris...Right?" today. The speakers highlighted on the withdrawal of the United States of America from the Paris Agreement and likely impacts on the sustainability of the Agreement.
During Minister Thoriq Ibrahim's speech, he reiterated the Maldives commitment to continue its leadership in the implementation of the Paris Agreement and stated that the Maldives looks forward to working with all countries to effectively implement the agreement. Minister noted that only through ambitious action on climate change can ensure a healthy and a prosperous future for all.
