New York – 21 April 2015 – The Maldives, expressed during the Open Debate on the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian Question in the Security Council, its unyielding support for the people and the cause of Palestine and its support for bringing the violence in the region to an end.
The Maldives furthermore expresses its solidarity with the international community in condemning the activities of the so-called “Islamic State” and it highlighted the perilous situation in Yarmouk, Syria and the developing situation in Yemen. In this regard the Maldives calls on all parties to do their utmost to protect civilians including woman and children, and to work towards finalising comprehensive and lasting peace.
