The Government of the Republic of Maldives and the Government of the Republic of Togo have signed an Agreement on Mutual Exemption of Visa Requirements today. Within the framework of this agreement, Maldivians with all types of passports will be able to travel to Togo without a visa and stay for up to 30 days.
The agreement was signed on behalf of the Government of Maldives by His Excellency Ahmed Khaleel, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, and on behalf of the Government of Togo, by His Excellency Prof. Robert Dussey, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and Togolese Abroad, at a signing ceremony held at the Permanent Mission of the Maldives in New York.
During the discussions following the signing ceremony, State Minister Khaleel thanked the Government of Togo for its commitment towards strengthening the bilateral relations with the Maldives and conveyed hope that the visa waiver agreement will increase the avenues for cooperation and people- to-people contact between the Maldives and Togo. Minister Dussey expressed keen interest in strengthening the bilateral ties with the Maldives and commitment to work together on areas of mutual interest.
