26 July 2017, New York: The new Permanent Representative of the Maldives to the United Nations, His Excellency Dr Ali Naseer Mohamed, has presented his Letter of Credence to the Secretary General of the United Nations, His Excellency Mr. António Guterres, during a ceremony held today at the United Nations Headquarters, New York. The President of the Republic of Maldives, His Excellency Mr Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, appointed Ambassador Mohamed as the new Permanent Representative of the Maldives to the United Nations on 9 July 2017. Prior to his appointment as the Permanent Representative Ambassador Mohamed was the Foreign Secretary of the Maldives, a position he held from November 2013 to July 2017. ENDS
