Minister Asim meets with the League of Arab States

25 April 2018, New York; Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Mohamed Asim met with the Permanent Representatives of the League of Arab States today, with a view to facilitate greater dialogue and cooperation with the countries of League. The Minister highlighted the historic links between the Maldives and the Arab region, and priorities in the international arena. Minister Asim highlighted the importance of reflecting the key values and Islam, and the views of Islamic countries, in key decision making bodies of the United Nations, including the Security Council. The Permanent Representatives thanked the Minister for participating in the discussion, and sharing the Maldives priorities and ideas moving forward. ENDS
