Minister Asim highlights role of UN in making lending environment more hospitable to small States

23 April 2018, New York; Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Mohamed Asim, highlighted the challenges faced in leveraging appropriate sources of financing for SIDS, where domestic resource mobilisation is limited. Speaking at the Ministerial Roundtables at the ECOSOC Forum on Financing for Development, the Minister highlighted that full collaboration and good faith is necessary between all countries to achieve the transformative changes envisioned in the Addis Ababa Action Agenda on Financing for Development, and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Minister Asim is taking part in the Ministerial Segment of the ECOSOC Forum on Financing for Development, taking place from 23-26 April 2018. ENDS
