Maldives calls for efficient cross-pillar coordination in peacebuilding efforts
25 April 2018, New York, Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Mohamed Asim today, called for greater coordination between the pillars of the United Nations, so that maximum benefits could be reaped in peacebuilding efforts. Speaking at the Interactive Dialogue of the High Level Meeting on Peace Building and Sustaining Peace, hosted by the President of the General Assembly, the Minister highlighted that an integrated approach is necessary when considered in the context of the 2030 Agenda and the indivisible nature of the 2030 Agenda.
The Maldives also highlighted the importance of an inclusive approach that involves all segments of society, especially women and youth.
The High Level Meeting on Peace Building and Sustaining Peace, hosted by the President of the General Assembly is being held in New York from 24-25 April.
