30 July 2015, Foreign Secretary Dr. Ali Naseer Mohamed, today met with the Assistant Secretary General of the United Nations Mr. Miroslav Jenča. During the meeting held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, the Foreign Secretary briefed the Assistant Secretary General, developments in the Maldives and exchanged views in formulating future UN assisted programmes in the Maldives. The Assistant Secretary General expressed the readiness of the United Nations to support Maldives during its road towards democracy consolidation and expressed the readiness of the United Nations to continue the fruitful cooperation that exists between Maldives and the United Nations. The Maldives Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Mr Ahmed Sareer attended the meeting.
