20 September 2016, New York: The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Maldives, H.E . Dr. Mohamed Asim has met with the Minister for Foreign Affairs of New Zealand, H.E Mr. Murray McCully on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
Minister Asim commended New Zealand's initiatives at the United Nations Security Council on the challenges facing small island states like the Maldives and stated that Maldives was pleased to participate in the debate. The two Ministers exchanged views on working together to continue advocacy on the subject. Both Ministers discussed ways in which relations between the two countries can be further strengthened.
