The cabinet has today decided to reduce 15% from the budgeted expenditure of the State. The decision was made at today’s meeting, following discussions on a paper presented by the Ministry of Finance and Treasury on the fiscal state of the country.
Members agreed to minimise the State expenditure, in a way that the primary services provided to the people by the government were not interrupted.
Members of the cabinet also discussed ways to minimise State expenditure, and steps that could be taken to increase State revenue.
