21 September 2016, New York; The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Maldives, H.E. Dr. Mohamed Asim met with the Minister of Climate and Environment of Norway, H.E. Mr. Vider Helgasen, earlier today at the sidelines of the 71st Session of the UNGA in New York.
During the meeting, both Ministers expressed support to deepen collaboration in areas of mutual interest and concern. High on the agenda was climate advocacy. The Ministers underscored commitment to address climate change and exchanged ideas on collaboration for efforts on adaptation and boosting climate financing mechanisms.
The two Ministers also reiterated the importance of having the early implementation of the Paris climate agreement.
Invest Maldives, the government agency entrusted with promoting, licensing and registering foreign investments in the country, is the first port of call for all foreigners keen to invest in the Maldives.
